Quyen Ha, partnerships manager for the OurWhisky Foundation

Quyen Ha has joined the OurWhisky Foundation team as marketing and partnerships manager, having previously worked in communications at William Grant & Sons and Chivas Brothers.

Ha will be working to continue building the Foundation’s brand partnerships and implement goals for growth over the coming years.

For the past two decades, Ha has been working in communications for global food and drink brands in Toronto, New York, London, Paris and Dublin.

As senior account manager at Jesson Artmont PR Agency, she oversaw the drinks portfolio for William Grant & Sons in Canada. Her desire for international experience led her to move to London, UK, where she worked as the corporate communications manager and global brand communications manager at William Grant & Sons and Chivas Brothers.

Her most proud global project was the launch of the rare Glenfiddich Janet Sheed Roberts 50-year-old collection that raised almost $1m dollars for sustainability projects around the world.

Ha said of her appointment: “I’m Canadian and my first job out of university was working in PR for a global whisky company. I remember travelling to Scotland for a full induction, starting with a tour of the distillery, followed by tasting with the master distiller. I was totally hooked! Since, those first days, I’ve seen the industry grow around the world, with countless new innovations, and new job opportunities in areas of sustainability, production, and education.

“The OurWhisky Foundation was set up to empower more people like me, to build their careers and inner strength. I’m looking forward to working with the team to support even more people, while also smashing some of the misconceptions about whisky in the process.”

Becky Paskin, founder of the OurWhisky Foundation, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Quyen to our small but growing team. She has the skill set, experience and attitude we need to take the OurWhisky Foundation to the next level and bring our services to a wider audience. We have big plans ahead for this year and beyond and Quyen will be instrumental in bringing on board the right partners to help us make them happen.”

In between freelancing for food and drinks brands, Ha also advocates for a more sustainable food system. In 2019, she took her passion to launch Feed Lab, a hub that celebrates international cuisine, while redirecting ‘good food’ towards feeding communities.
